This would give users the option to secure sites without a domain.
My use-case however is to provide a valid certificate when the WAF IP is used directly since responding with an invalid certificate can negatively affect a cyber risk score.
IP-based certificates are now available from Lets Encrypt https://letsencrypt.org/2026/01/15/6day-and-ip-general-availability
In addition I think it would be a nice feature if I could close the connection to hosts that are not explicitly defined as an application.
